New Hampshire Best Medicare Advantage Plans

While Original Medicare can help to pay for healthcare costs, Medicare Advantage plans can provide extra coverage. These plans offer the same coverage as Original Medicare, but with some potential benefits like vision, hearing, drug, and dental exam coverage. If you’re age 65 or older, you have the option to choose a Medicare Advantage plan instead of Medicare Parts A and B.

What Are the Best Medicare Advantage Plans in New Hampshire?

New Hampshire residents can access many Medical Advantage plans. The Medicare Advantage plans in NH are available throughout the state, but plan coverage varies. Additionally, certain plans are only available in certain locations, so you’ll need to search for plans available based on your zip code.

Private insurers sell Medicare Advantage plans. The coverage, in-network providers, deductible costs, and more will vary depending on the insurer. It’s important to carefully consider your healthcare needs and the type of coverage that you’ll need in a plan.

What Types of New Hampshire Medicare Advantage Plans Are Available?

The New Hampshire Medicare Advantage program features four different plan types. The provider network and premium and deductible prices can vary depending on the plan type that you choose:
  • Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans require you to choose a primary care, get referrals, and receive care from in-network providers. This type of plan usually includes drug coverage.
  • Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans don’t require you to choose a primary care, and they allow you to receive in-network care or receive care from out-of-network providers for a higher cost. These plans usually include drug coverage.
  • Private Fee-For-Service (PFFS) plans usually don’t require specialist referrals, and you usually don’t need to choose a primary care. You can use this coverage with any provider that accepts the payment terms, and the plan may include drug coverage.
  • Special Needs Plans (SNPs)

  • The Medicare Annual Election Period, which rungs October 15 through December 7 every year
  • The Open Enrollment Period, which runs January 1 through March 31 each year
Since Medicare Advantage plan coverage and availability varies, you’ll need to think about your specific healthcare needs to determine which plan is right for you.
